Simone Biles is one of the most decorated Olympians in the USA. She has made her name in gymnastics and brought home seven Olympic medals, including four gold. Simone Biles has achieved a lot at a young age and it comes as a surprise to know that she once had other career aspirations.
A few years ago, Simone Biles revealed her desire to be a part of the NFL cheerleading squad. The NFL Houston Texans are her home team; she has always been a fan of it. Biles is an incredible gymnast who would have certainly done well in cheerleading as well.

Simone Biles wants something other than gymnastics in her next life
In 2015, Biles tweeted a picture with the Houston Texans cheerleaders. She captioned, “In my next life I’ll be an NFL cheerleader.” In the picture, Biles can be seen surrounded by the cheerleaders in their costumes.

Biles is the only person in the photo not wearing the costume and the iconic red boots. Who knew that Biles would own her pair of red boots and pom-poms in the coming years! In 2017, Simone Biles became the honorary Houston Texans Cheerleader.
The Houston Texans played against the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. This match was where Biles first showed her cheerleading skills. “I was so excited because I tweeted … and then they asked, and I was like, ‘Oh snap, it’s getting real,’” Biles said before the big game.

Biles mentioned that the cheerleaders were also supportive and helped her with videos and tips for the match. She said, “So, they’re so helpful in telling me how the crowd’s going to react and how loud it’s going to be so to not pay attention because you can get distracted.”
Cheerleading was not the only surprise that the NFL had for Biles
Biles had no idea that along with cheering for her home team, she was also cheering for her future husband’s future team. Jonathan Owens plays for the Houston Texans team, and he started dating Biles in 2021. Interestingly, the two started talking on social media and hadn’t met each other before that.
