The Toronto Maple Leafs center will be out of games for four weeks. Ryan O’Reilly, the concerned NHL player, has an injured finger that eventually led him to Long Term Injured Reserve (LTIR). How impactful this injury is?

Ryan O’Reilly, 30, already scored three goals and has two assists in eight games wearing the blue jersey. In fact, he was doing great and juxtaposing with the hopes when, on Feb 27, O’Reilly scored a hat trick against the Buffalo Sabres. However, with this injury, his consistency certainly is hindered. However, if things work out and he gets back after four weeks, then O’Reilly will have only six games till the playoffs.

However, he has to put his best step forward to get to the playoffs. Though his coach stated that within four weeks he would come back and will join others in the lineup. It’s definitely hard for a player who was already trying to learn new systems and acclimatize to a new team. But hopes are high, that O’Reilly will have a speedy recovery and will get back to what he does best.

NHL fans come up with mixed reviews in the comment section

Leafs’ fans didn’t seem very convinced with the decision, as one commented, “Didn’t Crosby win a cup with a broken foot.” Another user hilariously wrote, “Probably used the same pair of gloves for too long.” One fan hinted at a conspiracy theory and penned, “Mathew is doing this shit on purpose to the leafs so he can go home…..”

One follower debunked the reason, saying, “Really it’s not gonna play in playoff because of broken finger loll what a joke.” Another user thought it was Leafs’ luck to get this after round 1, stating, “Round 1 exit was happening either way.”
