Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods were ‘the news’ back in 2012-2015. Vonn is a legendary Olympic Skiier and Woods is a hero to golfing fans worldwide. The duo first ran into each other at a charity event in 2012 and soon fell for each other. Vonn at that time had just ended her marriage which had been hard. 

To Vonn, Tiger wasn’t just a gentleman, but a benchmark in athletics as well. During a 2016 interview, Lindsey came out in the open to discuss a few controversial topics surrounding her name. From discussing her divorce to her battle with depression, she talked about all. But, she also took this opportunity to talk about the resilience of her then-beau.   

Lindsey Vonn revealed how Woods made her a better athlete

When talking with this Olympian, it is no surprise the topic of Woods is bound to arise. She applauded his level of control and confidence, but Vonn also shared how she’d get angrier than him at his losses. When Vonn probed to provide an example for the latter part, she narrated a 2013 incident. During a tournament in 2013, Woods made a mistake. This cost him to get disqualified from the series. This message greatly agitated Vonn while Tiger remained composed as ever. 

She narrated, “…That stroke cost him the tournament; but he stayed calm and he kept on fighting, even when they wanted to disqualify him.”

Lindsey also said,  “The whole thing affected me more than him.” According to Lindsey, she’d often try to emulate Tiger’s calm confidence in her. “When you make it to this level, it will make you a better skier.”

When Lindsey completed her racing career in 2019, it was an emotional moment both for her and the fans. Although she had accepted to feeling the retirement blues, Vonn is still active. She is a businesswoman and a public figure, collaborating with other celebrities like The Rock and the brand YNIQ. She also runs her brand dealing exclusively in skiing gear.
