There are rare friendships that stand the test of time. One such friendship is that of Simone Biles and Rachel Moore. Since starting her career, Rachel has been a steadfast cheerleader and pillar of support for Biles. The two became friends at a tender age, growing up side by side and training as gymnasts at Bannon’s Gymnastix. Since then, they have been inseparable.

Just last year, after Simone announced her engagement to her now-husband Jonathan Owens, Rachel had exciting news of her own to share. Moore was also set to walk down the aisle, announcing her engagement. Simone took to Instagram to celebrate, writing, “Welcome to the fiancé club.” Fast forward a year, and Rachel has shared an update that made Biles emotional.

In her latest Instagram story, Simone Biles shared a heartfelt message from Rachel Moore and her husband: Yes, husband! Biles wrote, “My beautiful best friend got married while I was away in Belgium. I’M CRYING, Y’ALL! Such a beautiful couple! I wish you many years of love and happiness! Rachel Roettger, LOVE YOU 2 SM.”

Rachel Moore is now officially Rachel Roettger, having tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Drake Roettger, on 10/6/23. Regrettably, Simone couldn’t be there in person because she was in Belgium, making history at the World Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp.

Despite the distance, Biles made sure to be a part of Rachel’s big day through a FaceTime call from Sportpaleis. Biles later shared a screenshot of the video call with Rachel and her sister, Adria Biles, while she was at Sportpaleis, moments before receiving her medal.

Biles wrote in her story, “Facetiming while waiting for awards,” followed by laughing emojis and the words, “real love!” Rachel also celebrated Simone Biles’ extraordinary historic wins in Antwerp amidst her wedding celebrations.

Although Biles couldn’t be present on the main day, she ensured that the days leading up to the wedding were just as special. In September, she gave a glimpse of Rachel’s bachelorette party. She posted a video of the bride-to-be, Rachel Moore, dancing in sync with Teague, Christiana Alyse, and Simone’s sister, Adria Biles.
