It has been more than a decade since hockey legend Wayne Gretzky retired in 1999. However, his love among fans has remained the same. So much so that his NLL team Las Vegas Desert Dogs, is planning something absolutely exciting for his fans. Keeping up with the fandom of Wayne Gretzky, the Dogs recently made the most thrilling excitement.

Today morning, Gretzky himself announced a surprising giveaway of his iconic jersey in the Dogs’ latest video. More so, the details of the giveaway were also revealed in the video.

Wayne Gretzky giveaway jersey; A limited edition affair
Lacrosse is one of the oldest sports that originated in North America. Currently, the country has 15 NLL teams in the 2023 season. Wayne Gretzky became a co-owner of Las Vegas Desert Dogs which was founded in 2021. Nevertheless, apart from The Great One, the other co-owners of the team are Dustin Johnson, Steve Nash, and Joe Tsai.

Recently, the team decided to giveaway a limited edition Wayne Gretzky Desert Dogs jersey on the game night against Vancouver Warriors on Saturday 11 March. The most thrilling news is that the jersey will be available to the first 4000 fans.

Grertzky’s iconic jersey will be black in color featuring GRETZKY on the nameplate and the number 99 written on the back. Moreover, a small area in the jersey will be occupied by Pinkbox Doughnuts who are the presenting sponsor for the giveaway. To celebrate the event, the organizers have decided to make fans avail single-game tickets without ticketing fees for 99 hours.

Becoming a part of Las Vegas Desert Dogs was an integral investment for Gretzky because he played lacrosse as a child. Now, when he sees his team play lacrosse he feels extremely proud of them.
Wayne Gretzky once appreciated his Lacrosse team
Although Gretzky ruled as an NHL player, he was passionate about lacrosse and decided to invest time and money in it post-retirement. In an interview in 2021, Gretzky revealed that he specifically enjoyed playing box lacrosse.

More so, he expressed why he invested in the Desert Dogs team, “This was a team of smart, dedicated, and, most of all, genuine people who had a passion for the game—something that is paramount to me. They had a deep desire to win, but also a desire to always win with class and dignity.”
Nevertheless, after Joe Tsai, Gretzky became the second investor in the team. He was also seen playing lacrosse in a lobby with Tsai.
