In the official tweet from @SwimmingWorld, the “Top 8 Swim Meets to Watch in 2024: All Lanes Lead to Paris -” line-up was shared. The rescheduled World Aquatic Championships in Doha (Feb 2-18), initially set for 2023 but postponed owing to the ongoing issues faced by the COVID-19 epidemic, will kick off the swimming meet calendar. Only the previous year’s Worlds qualifiers have guaranteed their seats in Paris.

The NCAA Women’s Championship in Athens, Georgia (March 20-23) promises exciting fresh faces in the mix. Next up, the NCAA Men’s Championships will take place in Indianapolis(March 27-30). The Australian Swimming Trials in Brisbane (June 10-15) emerge as an important point in Olympic selection. Australia’s trials have become a focal point in the world swimming calendar as the nation with the most gold medals at the recent World Championships. This completes half of the swimming meets scheduled for the half of the year.

Despite its proximity to the Olympic Games in Paris, the European Aquatic Championships in Belgrade (June 10-23) allow top Europeans to hone their talents. The next stage in shaping the American Olympic squad for Paris is the United States Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, which take place from June 15–23.
