Among a field of 20 formable contenders, Phil Sesemann, a British runner, completed the marathon in an impressive time of 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 4 seconds. This time, he secured his qualification for the Paris Olympics. The qualifying mark for the Olympics was 2:08:10, and Sesemann’s time of 2:08:04 meant he just made it in. Sesemann expressed overwhelming gratitude for the support he received throughout his marathon career. Phil Sesemann is now likely to be named on the British marathon team for the Paris Olympics.
