Since the highly anticipated Pan American Games 2023 is near its conclusion, participating athletes pour their sweat and blood to make it to the finals. Even though this year has been fortunate for Team USA across multiple sports, it is not fortunate for the Beach Volleyball team representing the USA.

This week, neither the men’s beach volleyball team nor the women’s beach volleyball team was able to win a semi-final match. Even though Team USA’s beach volleyball pair could not make it to the finals yet, there was a ray of hope. They were eligible for a bronze match, which was held on Friday this week. However, the team lost the hard-fought battle, settling in fourth position at the Pan American Games 2023.

Bronze Medal Quest Comes to a Gritty End

Logan Webber and Hagen Smith entered the arena to compete for a bronze medal at Santiago this Friday. In a recent tweet by USAV Beach, it was captioned as “Logan Webber and Hagen Smith push the bronze medal match to three sets, but lose to host team and world No. 22 Grimalt/Grimalt 2-1 (21-14, 18-21, 15-12) It’s a 4th place finish for the U.S. men’s pair at the 2023 Pan Am Games

The American Duo locked horns with Chile’s duo, Grimalt and Grimalt. Despite giving tough competition to the Chilean pair, Team USA could not make the bronze match a win. Eventually, they were defeated by the World No. 22 team Grimalt/Grimalt at the Pan American Games. Thus, the dream to accomplish a bronze medal at the championship shattered this year for Team USA.

Even though Team USA made higher attacks than Team Chile, they clinched only 47 game points in the match. Eventually, team Chile not only emerged victorious but also secured a remarkable (21-14, 18-21, 15-12) score, finishing the match in 3rd position with a total score of 2-1. Despite the Men’s beach volleyball pair’s defeat, USA witnessed a bitter-sweet triumph on Friday.

Bitter-sweet Triumph for USA’s Beach Volleyball Team

USA’s Beach volleyball Women’s team stood atop the podium while clinching a bronze medal. Although the Quiggle-horn pair could not clinch gold this year at the Pan American games, they settled for a bronze. Unlike the men’s team, the women’s beach volleyball team learnt from their mistakes and executed in the match.

In the quest for the bronze medal, the women’s team won the match by making it difficult for their opponent to survive on the court. In addition to this, they also achieved a remarkable score of 0-2 in the epic showdown against team Argentina. Nonetheless, the USA’s beach volleyball team returned home with one bronze and defeat.
