If the athletes receive the perfect guidance from a tender age, they can soar high with little hindrance. To reinforce this thought, several associations have emerged with the motive of helping college sports reach a height. But there’s none like the National Collegiate Athletic Association, which has only catered to the young athletes’ well-being over the years.

With a lot to address and honor the athletes who deserve accolades, the 2024 NCAA Convention kicked off on January 9th. The five-day-long event concluded on Saturday, January 13, after a successful week of education sessions, award ceremonies, and governance. But what most people would overlook is that the attendees had made the Convention more successful than it would originally have been.

The 2024 NCAA Convention pleased with record attendees

Resorting to their X handle, the NCAA’s official page has posted, “2861 total attendees! Thank you to everyone for making this year’s #NCAAconv amazing!” Keeping “it’s not going to fix itself” in mind, NCAA president Charlie Baker set sail to address the problems that require attention. Before a room packed with people, Baker reiterated his career lessons from government, politics, and healthcare. Delivering his first State of College Sports address, the president, elected just 10 months back, had 10 observations to add to his debut speech. In his less than a year’s tenure, he had already engaged in 120 conversations across 97 conferences. But now, he can vouch for some serious advancements in the NCAA divisions.

Moreover, the eight-year media rights agreement with ESPN may hint at some good days moving forward. Before Baker took the stage to deliver his speech, the Mental Health Best Practises document’s updated version received official acclaim from the NCAA Board of Governors chair and Baylor President Linda A. Livingstone. But undoubtedly the former was the highlight of the event with his line of good moves.

The sports technology firm works towards recognizing women athletes, thus building the largest women’s sports fan database in the world. Mumbles around physical and mental health issues have threatened the position of the NCAA. However, according to the new incorporations, appropriate resources and open engagement can fix the situation.
