Aliyah Boston is everywhere right now, and it’s not just because of her double-doubles. She’s the newest cover star of WSLAM after Lynx forward Napheesa Collier. But the spotlight hasn’t made her forget where she came from. In fact, she is using her moment to uplift her city and the next generation. And that moment now has her name etched in the calendar. More on that in a minute. But first, just a few hours ago, WSLAM dropped a teaser for their latest digital cover.

It was silhouette-style, red-and-blue tones, with bold “WSLAM” lettering screaming INDY 2025 WNBA ALL-STAR across the top. The mystery didn’t last long though. Soon, the full cover made its rounds on the internet, and the netizens were all in. Boston featured in her Fever red. She was holding a basketball like a crown, while standing tall with “THERE SHE GO” stamped loud in yellow. It was a classic WSLAM collage moment. The leak? That came from inside. The official release is set to happen tomorrow. But ahead of tonight’s game vs. the Liberty, Aliyah Boston’s squad made sure the world got a sneak peek.

The Fever players stepped out of their hotel rocking custom T-shirts with her WSLAM cover splashed across the front. One by one: first Makayla Timpson, then Lexie Hull, Damiris Dantas, and Aari McDonald. Each paired the tee with a proud smile. And then came Boston herself, she pulled up last in an all-white, semi-formal fit. Upon boarding the bus, Hull couldn’t help but excitedly hug Aliyah Boston to tell her that the T-shirt looks great. To all that love, Boston responded through her Instagram stories. “My bookies🥰🥰 I love it,” she wrote, heart full.

But the love didn’t stop at just T-shirts.

On Monday, Boston was honored at the Massachusetts State House. The city officially declared July 14 as Aliyah Boston Day. And once again, her teammates showed up for her, this time, virtually though. Caitlin Clark was among the first to celebrate the moment. She did it by resharing the Fever’s tribute post to her Instagram story. The post’s caption simply read: “It’s HER day. July 14, 2025 is officially ‘Aliyah Boston Day’ in the city of Boston.”

This honor was in recognition of her remarkable journey. An ode to her high school dominance at Worcester Academy, where she led the team to an 86-10 record, to becoming one of the most respected faces in women’s basketball. “Today’s players are inspiring women and girls all over the world,” said Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey during the event. “And you know what? They’re inspiring men and boys as well. That has everything to do with the role models we’re seeing in the WNBA. And there’s no better example of a role model than Aliyah Boston.”

Aliyah Boston Puts Her Name on the City, Literally

As if having a day named after her wasn’t iconic enough, Aliyah Boston marked Aliyah Boston Day by making a power move. This past Monday, the WNBA All-Star revealed that she’s investing in Boston Legacy FC. It’s the city’s new NWSL expansion team slated to debut in 2026. The club’s social media dropped the news with perfect timing, posting: “On Aliyah Boston Day in the City of Boston, what better time to say: welcome to the Legacy. Aliyah Boston, WNBA All-Star and three-time Massachusetts Player of the Year, is now a Boston Legacy FC investor.”

That announcement sparked huge excitement, including from Indiana Fever GM Amber Cox. She cheered Boston’s growing influence online: “This is amazing! And on Aliyah Boston Day. Impressive.” Now, Boston is part of an all-female ownership group which is packed with stars like Stephanie Connaughton, Ami Danoff, Jennifer Epstein, and Anna Palmer. The investor lineup also features Olympian Aly Raisman, actor Elizabeth Banks, and Tracy Stevens, wife of Celtics President Brad Stevens.

At the State House ceremony, Aliyah Boston opened up about the city’s impact on her: “This city helped raise me. I’m proud to invest in its future and be part of growing opportunities for the next generation.” She also left young fans with some motivation to dream big and carve their own path. The Boston Legacy FC will hit the field in 2026. They will be joining a new Denver team to bring the NWSL to 16 squads. Just like that, Aliyah Boston is helping build the future while making it to headlines.
