The league is overflowing with talent right now. Stars like A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, and Breanna Stewart have been the faces of the WNBA for the past few years. Now, with young superstars like Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers stepping up, the level of play is only getting higher, making it the best chance to fall in love with the league. But even with all these amazing players, none have matched what Paige Bueckers has pulled off in her rookie season so far.
According to I Talk Hoops (@trendyhoopstars) on X, Paige Bueckers is the only player to score in double figures in every game she’s played this season. Sounds crazy, right? You might think it’s impossible to keep that streak going all season, but managing double-digit points in 25 games is a huge achievement in itself. Even stars like A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, and Caitlin Clark have each had at least one game scoring under 10 points. And Breanna Stewart? She’s had multiple games with single-digit scores.

It’s unfortunate, but one of A’ja’s two single-digit games happened against the New York Liberty when she injured her wrist driving to the basket. She only played 14 minutes that night and scored just 2 points. The same goes for Napheesa Collier, who hurt her back in a game against the Las Vegas Aces and managed only 7 points.
Caitlin Clark’s situation is a bit different. Due to three separate injuries to her quads and groin, she has played only 13 games this season. Her only single-digit game came against the Seattle Storm, where she had one of the worst performances of her career–scoring just 6 points on 23.1% shooting from the field and missing all six three-point attempts. Soon after that game, news broke that Clark had injured her groin and would miss several games before making a comeback.
But none of that takes away from the incredible rookie year Paige Bueckers is having. Sure, the Wings are sitting 12th with an 8-24 record, so wins haven’t come easily. But on a personal level, Paige’s season has been nothing short of amazing. Her rookie of the year battle with the Mystics’ duo, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, has been one of the most exciting storylines to follow this year.

But that said, there is no one more deserving than Paige Bueckers herself. She has rewritten the history books for fun this year. She became the fastest rookie in the W to reach 450+ points, 100+ rebounds, and 100+ assists while also extending her double-digit scoring streak to 25 games. And all of that has been possible due to her faith!
Paige Bueckers on faith helping her overcome tough times
Faith means everything to Paige. Remember when UConn beat USC in the Elite 8 last year with Paige dropping 28 points? Her words about faith went viral, and she’s lived by them ever since. She said, “You can overcome anything with God on your side, with hard work on your side. With the belief, the faith, the perseverance and the resilience. It’s all about how you overcome adversity in life. Just sticking together as one and not letting anything break us.” And that mindset has been her secret weapon throughout her career!

What’s your perspective on:
Is Paige Bueckers the next big thing in WNBA, or just a flash in the pan?
Have an interesting take?
When Paige was asked how she’s using her faith to get through the tough times with Dallas after their recent loss to the Mystics, she gave a thoughtful answer. “I feel like on the other side of a hard time is a really big blessing. So continuing to keep that faith. It’s easy to believe in God and think all things are well when you’re coming off a national championship, you’re winning games, you have a winning record. But how are you and how is your character when you have a losing record?”
As long as Paige keeps her faith strong and works hard, there’s no challenge she can’t beat. She’s a winner through and through, and it’s only a matter of time before she’s battling with the elite for championships. Maybe it won’t happen this year, but in the coming seasons for sure!
