Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark didn’t just bring their game to the WNBA; they brought the entire crowd with them. And with so many fans eager to witness them play against each other, the Dallas Wings had no choice but to level up the venue. Originally scheduled for the cozy, 7,000-seat College Park Center in Arlington, the August 1 game against the Indiana Fever got a glamorous promotion to the 20,000-seat American Airlines Center, where the Mavericks and Stars play.
The Wings even gave the event a sequel-worthy name, pretty literally. They began calling it “The Sequel” in June itself, because the first blockbuster showdown on June 27 packed the same venue with 20,409 screaming fans and ended with the Fever taking a 94–86 win. But, is it really a sequel? Yes, much to the dismay of fans in one manner.

How the Dallas Wings vs Indiana Fever Might Go Down…
The Indiana Fever have taken control of this season’s series against the Dallas Wings early. They have won the first two matchups decisively. First of those victories came with Clark sidelined. So, in that manner, a disappointing sequel, yes. Now, as they face the Wings again, Clark is out again, with a groin injury this time. So they’ll have to keep their momentum going without their star guard.
But the Fever aren’t showing any signs of cooling off. They have strung together three straight wins and have taken four of their last six games. That includes a season-high 107-point explosion against Phoenix in their latest game. Kelsey Mitchell has been on fire, Aliyah Boston is owning the paint, and the whole team is playing with a level of confidence that Dallas just can’t seem to find right now.

On the other side, the Wings are struggling at 8–20 and have lost six of their last eight games. Paige Bueckers has been a rare bright spot. She is fresh off a 21-point performance, but her efforts haven’t been enough to turn things around. With Maddy Siegrist a game-time decision and Tyasha Harris out for the season, Dallas’ already shaky depth is being pushed to its limits.
According to us, the Fever has the upper hand here. Moreover, even ESPN’s Analytics gives them a 52.8% chance to win, and that seems about right. Unless the Wings can suddenly put together a complete team effort, Indiana looks poised to complete the 3-0 season sweep and keep their playoff hopes alive.
