Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings was a game earmarked as soon as the schedule was released. With a chance to see both Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers in action, the fans were excited for this matchup. However, what seemed like an exciting 4-game series between these two young superstars has not panned out as expected. Caitlin Clark missed the team’s first matchup due to an injury.

The WNBA fans were finally treated to a matchup between the two on July 13, 2025. Although the game was won by Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever, Paige Bueckers also had a great game and scored 21 points. However, in their last meeting, the injury bug struck again as Caitlin Clark missed the game through a right groin injury. With the teams set to face each other tomorrow, everyone is checking the injury list to see if there is any update on Caitlin’s status for the game.

To much surprise, there indeed seemed to be an update for her status for the game against the Dallas Wings. While checking the WNBA Gametime app’s injury list, Caitlin Clark was listed as a Game Time Decision instead of Out. Fans looking out for these updates like hawks quickly noticed, and screenshots of the same quickly went viral on social media.

This update filled the WNBA fans around the world with hope that Caitlin Clark might be back sooner rather than later. However, what seemed like a welcome surprise eventually turned into a big let-down. Turns out, this update was due to a glitch with the WNBA’s app. The error has since been fixed, and Caitlin Clark is once again listed as Out. While this error did give some hope to fans, reality has now set in, and fans are again waiting for a concrete update regarding Caitlin Clark’s availability.

Caitlin Clark Still Unable to Practice With Team As Slow Recovery Continues

The Indiana Fever has had to face a lot of backlash over the handling of Caitlin Clark’s injury. Be it unclear updates regarding her injury, or rushing her too soon, the fans have been on their case for a long time now. All this backlash has even led head coach Stephanie White to admit that the Fever organisation did not manage her injury and rushed too soon.

After this admission, fans were expecting the Indiana Fever to announce significant updates regarding CC. However, their last press release did not do anything to ease the frustration. With no timetable of return given, it was another update that left the fans wanting more. Now, in their pre-game press conference, Stephanie White has shared another update that would not please the fanbase. In this update, Coach White has said that although Caitlin is running on the court, she is yet to practice with the team.

She explained that it could still be a while before she is back for team practice. Coach White said, “It’s really building up from doing minimal to building some endurance to do longer periods of time. She’s been able to do a little more on the court in terms of how she moves, but not into practice shape.

Generally, being back in team practice is considered to be the last step in the return-to-play process. With Caitlin still some ways away from doing so, it is safe to assume that Caitlin Clark will not be back in action anytime soon.
