Someone cue Stick It 2: WNBA edition, please. After all, Jordan Chiles had taken us further into the imagination crossover land. Jordan once joked that Caitlin Clark’s control over the basketball court was so smooth, it could probably translate to an elite vault performance. And A’ja Wilson? According to Jordan, she’s got the kind of dominance that screams all-around gold on a gymnastics mat. So really, is it shocking that Jordan carved out time to catch Clark in action live? Of course not.
And when we call her a lucky charm, we’re not just tossing around compliments – it’s practically in her name. From the moment she was born and named, Jordan Chiles has been sprinkling a little bit of that pixie dust magic wherever she goes. “I am named after Michael Jordan so definitely, you know basketball thing has been in my life,” Chiles once said. “My mom was a huge Jordan fan ever since she was younger. Obviously, I have Jordans on to match. It’s a good little good luck charm I think.”
And this time, the charm came at a time when the Indiana Fever’s 2025 WNBA season has been a story full of twists. With the highs of the seasons, such as winning the Commissioner’s Cup, followed closely by the lows of losing games to an expansion team. However, the lowest of all lows for the Indiana Fever fans has been Caitlin Clark’s constant injuries. On rest for her third injury of the season, CC has spent more time off the court than on this season.ADVERTISEMENT

While the early fear was that the Fever might tumble out of playoff contention, the tide has turned in recent weeks. Now in the final third of the season – the business end where playoff seedings take shape – Indiana appears to have steadied the ship. Kelsey Mitchell is leading the charge with a career-best scoring season, backed by consistent support from Aliyah Boston, Sophie Cunningham, and Natasha Howard. However, in their last win, they might have someone else to thank as well
In the Fever’s latest win against the Seattle Storm, they had a ‘lucky charm’ on their side. The lucky charm was none other than Olympic Gold medalist Gymnast Jordan Chiles. After attending the Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings game on Friday, Jordan attended the Fever’s win vs the Seattle Storm. Her presence at both games resulted in wins for the Indiana Fever. However, the one against the Storm is more meaningful and substantial in the long run for the Indiana Fever.

With this win, the Indiana Fever has set two new records. Having won their fifth-straight win, the Indiana Fever has tied its longest winning streak in the last decade. A five-game win streak may not seem like a big deal; however, the fact that from 2015 until mid‑2024, the Fever had never won five games in a row shows the dire state of the franchise. But there’s more to this one, more to feel proud about, since it came entirely without Clark on the court. However, the records did not end there. This is also the first time the Indiana Fever have been 5 games over the .500 record for the first time since 2015. And of course, White was the head coach back then as well.
Interestingly, during both games Jordan Chiles attended involving the Indiana Fever, the lucky charm wore a customized hat of the opponent team. After the Dallas game, Jordan Chiles posed with Caitlin Clark in full WNBA glam – rocking a bedazzled jersey and thigh-high boots. But while the boots screamed runway-ready, it was the custom sparkly Dallas Wings cap Chile wore during the matchup that stayed stuck in Clark’s mind.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Jordan Chiles the secret weapon the Indiana Fever needed to turn their season around?
Have an interesting take?
In a video posted by the Indiana Fever on X and Instagram, Clark greeted the Olympian with a hug—but not without calling her out: “Even though you had a Dallas Wings hat on,” Clark teased, “I’ll let it slide.” But Chile had her defense ready. “Okay, look, I have a custom one! My best friend made me a custom one,” Jordan said. “I have one for each team.” Clark’s verdict? “That’s fire”. And maybe it’s the opponent’s hat on Chile’s head that’s bringing out the maximum effect. But when will we see our full team grinding it out under that full charm?
