Mystery Man Takes Angel Reese on a Dream Date Night That Could Seem Unusual to Many

Angel Reese once dated college basketball star Cam’Ron Fletcher, but that chapter officially closed in March 2024. “Yeah, I’m single,” she had announced on an Instagram Live. “I don’t got no man. Don’t attach me to no man. That’s all I’mma say. That’s it.” Later on her Unapologetically Angel podcast, she opened up about how being in a public relationship and then going through a breakup can really take a toll on your mental health. And that’s not all. According to Daily Jang, Reese made it clear that she won’t go public with a relationship again, unless it’s with the person she’s going to marry. Still, things seem to have taken an unexpected turn.

Angel Reese has never been shy about setting the bar high. She has always been a firm believer that anyone stepping into her world has to bring the same energy she does. “I have a standard of what I live up to and how I live my life, and as long as you can meet up to that and meet up to my expectations, then yeah,” Reese had said in her podcast once. And looks like she has finally found someone who could meet her standards.

Angel Reese just lit up social media with her latest Instagram story. The Bayou Barbie gave fans a peek into her date night at UFC 319, where she was spotted enjoying the fights alongside her date. She followed it up with another story. This time, it was a meme where one woman asks, “What was the date about?” and the other replies, “Watching guys get beat up.” The first woman then says, “My dream date. Cute. And he knows that.”

While Angel didn’t reveal who she was with during the date night, some fans were quick to connect the dots and found out it was Wendell Carter Jr. Some even confirmed that they saw the two together when the ESPN cameras panned towards the rumored couple. And well, it holds up. Remember when Reese revealed that she wanted her next man to be  6’7″ or taller and would prefer him to be from the NBA? So, let’s just say Wendell Carter ticks every single box.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen these two stars together on national TV. Angel Reese attended several Orlando Magic games last season, and interestingly, the Magic have a winning record whenever she’s in the stands. Some Reddit fans speculate that Reese goes to the games because her teammate Hailey Van Lith is dating Magic star Jalen Suggs. But seems like there’s more to the story.

Wendell Carter Jr. made headlines previously when he was dating Connecticut Sun star Olivia Nelson-Ododa. The couple first drew attention when Olivia commented, “I love you,” on a birthday post Wendell had dedicated to her. Since then, the post has been deleted, leading fans to believe that Carter and Olivia have broken up, and it does align well with the timeline.

Carter was seen wearing a t-shirt that showcased Reese’s new signature shoes with Reebok, the Angel Reese 1, and posed for photos with her during the WNBA All-Star games. Speculations about them dating have been persistent since then, with sportscaster Chris Williams joining in the hype train with a tweet of his, which read “Wendell said we gonna be loud and proud rocking my woman’s signature shoe t-shirt!” It definitely feels like something’s brewing between the two. But since neither has confirmed or denied anything yet, we’ll keep the speculation on pause… for now!

Angel Reese has her first UFC experience

It’s been seven games since Angel Reese last suited up for the Chicago Sky. It’s unfortunate, especially considering the season she’s been having–averaging a league-high 12.6 rebounds per game and racking up 17 double-doubles. She’s also been leading the Sky in assists with 3.7 per game. While it’s still unclear when Reese will return, the Bayou Barbie is making the most of her rehab break!

With UFC 319 taking place at the United Center in Chicago, it was probably an easy decision for Angel Reese to catch the action live, especially with the middleweight title fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev headlining the event. Reese clearly enjoyed the spectacle and shared her own experience. “UFC is so cool but SCARY😭🫣,” she posted on X.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see when Reese makes her return to the court, but exploring new experiences is certainly one way to stay distracted from the frustration of being sidelined.
