If you’ve been a longtime fan of women’s hoops, the last truly star-studded draft class that probably comes to mind is the legendary ‘Big Three’ – Brittney Griner, Elena Delle Donne, and Skylar Diggins. But then came the 2024 draft class, and suddenly, we were witnessing the rise of a new era. Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, and Rickea Jackson indeed made up one of the most loaded and game-changing classes. Since stepping onto the hardwood, they’ve been breaking records, stirring headlines, and rewriting the story of the league. And every time these stars go head-to-head, it’s a must-watch.
So heading into Tuesday’s matchup, both the Los Angeles Sparks and Chicago Sky were trying to crawl out of a slump. Both teams had dropped three straight, and neither had the kind of season they’d hoped for. The Sparks sat at 4-10, the Sky were worse at 3-10. Not exactly banner years for either squad. But what kept fans locked in? The names. Reese, Jackson, Kelsey Plum, and more. Not to forget how similar these two franchises are. Both are chasing that old-school success. Both revamped their rosters with some solid trades. And most importantly, they’ve got that 2024 class firepower – four second-year stars.
Even Reese, Jackson, and Cardoso all know each other very well from their SEC college days. From the jump, it looked like a classic SEC showdown. Early in the first quarter, things got real between Jackson and Sky vet Rebecca Allen. They were battling for a rebound, and Rickea did not like Allen’s physical play. Words were exchanged. Tension started to rise, and that’s when Reese stepped in and pulled Allen away, probably trying to squash it

But Jackson wasn’t done. She kept chirping, and Reese turned back, probably telling her to chill. Well, Jackson clearly wasn’t feeling it and gave Angel a little shove. Reese didn’t back down either. Kelsey Plum even got in the mix, barking at Reese for stepping in. Eventually, it all calmed down with both Jackson and Allen receiving techs.

While all eyes were locked on the drama, Chi-town Barbie was out there doing what she does best – quietly making history. Even though the Sky trailed 29–17 after the first quarter, Reese already had two points, four boards, and two assists on the board. Just business as usual, right? No. This was history. The Sky star came into the game with 602 career points and 596 rebounds. So with that first-quarter stat line, she officially became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 600 points and 600 rebounds.
But are we really surprised? Not at all. Just last month, on a Tuesday again, she became the quickest to hit 500 and 500, passing Tina Charles. That was against the Phoenix Mercury in her 38th game. Also, even when her team doesn’t win, she’s still out there doing her thing. Like in the last tough 93–80 loss to the Atlanta Dream, Reese still dropped 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 32 minutes. In fact, this whole 2025 season has been kind of a breakout for her in terms of records and personal improvements.
Sure, the Sky have had their struggles. But they managed to finally snap their losing streak with a much-needed revenge win over the Sparks. It was just one of those days when everything lined up for Reese. She had the numbers. She made history. She got the W. And of course – because she’s Angel Reese – she also delivered a signature tunnel fit that had the internet talking.

As the Chicago Sky got ready to take on the Los Angeles Sparks at Wintrust Arena, the spotlight wasn’t just on the game; it was all on Angel Reese. Not just because she’s been racking up double-doubles like it’s her job (which, well, it kinda is), but because Chi-town Barbie showed up again with that fashion fire.

Fresh off her eighth double-double of the season, Reese pulled up courtside in a sleek, all-grey dress that had social media buzzing within minutes. Like, are we even surprised? Ever since she entered the league as the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she’s not only been dominating the glass but also turning the tunnel into her personal runway. The fashion game has been strong since day one, and Tuesday was no different. But Angel wasn’t the only one bringing the heat.
Sparks star Kelsey Plum showed up with her own vibe – rocking a school-girl-style fit complete with a grey miniskirt, a loose white-collared shirt, and a matching handbag. The Sparks even captioned her photo with “Class is in session,” and we agree. And yes, both of them also came to hoop. Plum dropped 20 for Sparks while Reese added 18 as the Sky finally ended their three-game slide with a 97-86 win over LA.

The win couldn’t have come at a better time, either, as Chicago now hits the road for a tough four-game stretch against the Valkyries, Lynx, Mystics, and then a third dance with the Sparks.
