“I figured I was destined to have girls, and there’s a part of me that just knew—and it’s awesome to be a girl-dad,” Alexis Ohanian once shared while speaking with filmmaker Ken Burns last year, perfectly capturing the essence of fatherhood. The Reddit co-founder continues to cherish and celebrate the beauty of being a dad of two, sharing countless heartwarming moments with his daughters, especially Olympia. From their special “weekend things” on the golf course to offering insights into balancing business and fatherhood on his podcast, Ohanian has always embraced the joys of parenting. Recently, his 7-year-old daughter melted his heart once again with a sweet gesture that made him one lucky dad! But what did she do this time?

Both Ohanian and Serena Williams have been open about parenting since their elder daughter Olympia was a toddler, giving fans a glimpse into their family life from time to time. A proud ‘girl dad,’ Ohanian cherishes the little things: whether it’s making silly pancakes (a tradition that earned him the nickname ‘Papa Pancakes’) or bonding over Star Wars adventures at Disney World. But recently, a passion has taken root in Olympia’s daily routine: her growing love for cooking!

Well, little Olympia is always on the verge of becoming America’s next top chef! Remember when she proudly made homemade pizza in a short Boomerang shared by her entrepreneur father, sprinkling cheese on the dough with the biggest smile? Or the times she whipped up bright red waffles, cooked breakfast, and baked cookies for him? Well, this time, it wasn’t cooking but a simple, heartfelt gesture from the 7-year-old related to her love for the kitchen that caught her father’s attention. And Ohanian couldn’t help but share the sweet moment with his fans through social media!

The 41-year-old took to IG to share a carousel of stories, but one, in particular, stole the spotlight: his daughter Olympia’s adorable breakfast list for her father. A handwritten note from a seven-year-old child carefully itemized a planned meal consisting of pancakes, spinach, potatoes, scrambled eggs, dessert, and fruit. The lucky dad, honored to have a meal prepared by his little chef, couldn’t resist sharing the heartfelt menu with his fans, adding, “She made me breakfast this morning 🥰🥰🥰 I’m so lucky.”

Time and time again, Ohanian has emphasized how lucky he feels to be the dad of Olympia. In one of the old episodes of his podcast Business Dad last month, he revealed one of the most adorable moments of his life after becoming a father for the first time. “I remember the first time I held Olympia, who was my firstborn. And it just- I don’t know how to describe it. It was an overwhelming feeling of emotions, of pride, of joy, of of all that literally every emotion I could have imagined feeling I felt in a singular moment,” he stated.

Yet, instead of sticking to traditional parenting methods, Alexis infuses fun and empowerment into everyday lessons for his daughters, especially Olympia, his elder one. This beautifully aligns with a cherished family tradition that Serena Williams once highlighted: the beloved ‘Papa Pancakes’ mornings.

“Pancakes definitely played a part” — Ohanian shares about Papa Pancakes tradition

Remember last November when Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams attended Lingo Spike Sessions? Well, the event was a laughter-filled affair, packed with family secrets, playful banter, and plenty of lighthearted moments from the family itself. From late-night binge snacks to parenting insights and even a fun debate about who’s more likely to cheat on their diet, their session was full of behind-the-scenes gems. However, a touching detail emerged: Ohanian’s treasured weekend custom of sharing breakfast with his daughters.

When asked about their family’s go-to weekend breakfast, Serena didn’t hesitate! “Papa pancakes,” she answered with a smile. While the response was sweet on its own, it was the father’s heartfelt addition that truly stole the spotlight.

“When Olympia was little and couldn’t really speak, I’d make alphabet letters in the pancakes for every letter in her name. I can’t take all the credit for her learning to read, but pancakes definitely played a part,” Ohanian chimed in with a smile, capturing the essence of their cherished tradition. Immediately, the 23-time Grand Slam champion offered an appreciative nod and commented, “Papa pancakes provides for and educates you.”  The scene illuminated their profound parental connection and the family’s values of love, creativity, and shared rituals.
