Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard rose to stardom after reaching the final at Wimbledon in 2014. Many thought she would become the next big thing after her amazing run at Wimbledon. However, due to various injuries, her career went downhill.

The Canadian player recently celebrated her 28th birthday. At a surprise party, Genie celebrated her birthday in style with many close friends and loved ones.

Eugenie Bouchard celebrates her 28th birthday

Recently, Genie Bouchard announced that she was dating Pittsburgh Steelers’ star quarterback Mason Rudolph. As a loving partner, Rudolph organized a surprise birthday party for Genie at the Nobu Malibu restaurant in Malibu. 

Recently, Genie shared some videos on her Instagram stories about her birthday celebration. In those videos, we can see Genie celebrating her birthday with her boyfriend and many friends. Their dinner table was full of fancy dishes, as they were having fun with everyone. 

At the same time, the Canadian star also showed her birthday cake, which looked like a barbie doll. Later, she revealed that she has eaten half of the cake, as she wrote, “Cake for daysss.”

Genie also showed the lovely view outside of the Hotel with the view of the ocean. 

Genie is trying hard to make a comeback on the tour

2014 was truly was a great year for the Canadian star player. In that year, Genie reached the Wimbledon final. Also, she reached the semi-finals of both the Australian Open and the French Open in the same year. After the early success in 2014, she didn’t perform well in the next few years.

Genie’s current WTA ranking is 331, which is due to her not playing for many months. After sustaining a shoulder injury early in 2021, she hasn’t played a single match till now. However, we have seen her practicing hard on the tennis court for a return on the tour. 

In December, she posted a video on Instagram, as she hit a tennis ball after eight long months. At the moment, it’s still unknown about her comeback match or tournament. It will be interesting to see whether she can make a real impression on the tennis court right away.
