The 24-year-old was the victim of a major upset at this year’s Australian Open when she went down to Amanda Anisimova in the third round. The defending champion failed to win crucial points as she eventually lost to the American in a three-setter thriller.

The 4-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram to update the fans about her upcoming tournament. In a question-and-answer session, one of her fans asked her, “What is your next tournament?” Osaka replied, “Indian Wells”, along with a smiling and a heart emoji.

Osaka will have fond memories of this tournament. Her first WTA title came here back in 2018 as a 20-year-old. She had defeated Daria Kasatkina of Russia in the summit clash to lift the title.
