In 2021, Naomi Osaka began her season with a bang by lifting the Australian Open title. It was her second Australian Open title and fourth overall. En route to her title, she had defeated some big names in the form of Serena Williams and Garbine Muguruza.

However, she hasn’t quite enjoyed that kind of start to the 2022 season. The 24-year-old was the victim of a major upset at this year’s Australian Open when she went down to Amanda Anisimova in the third round. The defending champion failed to win crucial points as she eventually lost to the American in a three-setter thriller.

After her run at the Grand Slam Down Under, Naomi has returned to the USA, her country of residence. She was seen cheering her close friend Christopher Eubanks at the Dallas Open. Further, the Japanese star has revealed her upcoming tournament.

Naomi Osaka to play at Indian Wells next
The 4-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram to update the fans about her upcoming tournament. In a question-and-answer session, one of her fans asked her, “What is your next tournament?” Osaka replied, “Indian Wells”, along with a smiling and a heart emoji.

Osaka will have fond memories of this tournament. Her first WTA title came here back in 2018 as a 20-year-old. She had defeated Daria Kasatkina of Russia in the summit clash to lift the title.
