After her third-round defeat at the Australian Open, former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka announced that she will take some time off from the court. However, she has kept her fans updated and engaged through her social media accounts.  

Recently, Osaka took to her Instagram account and conducted an ask-me-anything session on her stories. In one of them, she revealed that her next tournament will be Indian Wells in California. While answering another question about her hobbies, Osaka’s response left her fans in ambiguity.

Naomi Osaka reveals what she does for fun 

One of the questions asked by her followers was, “What do you do for fun?” Osaka answered the question and revealed that she is doing a number of things right now and that she always keeps herself engaged.

However, what was eye-catching was the next part of the answer. Osaka opened up upon her personality and claimed that she always has some project in the works, but never reveals what it is. “I’m the type of person that always has to have projects going, I just never tell anyone what I’m doing until it comes out,” the 4-time Grand Slam champion said.

After creating some suspense, the 24-year-old ended the answer by saying, “Mainly reading a lot during this time though.” Beyond reading, Osaka would also be probably practicing her art skills after her exploits during the Australian Open.

Osaka on the tour

Osaka started her 2022 season at the WTA 250 Melbourne Summer Set 1. Even though she made a strong start in the tournament, it was a short-lived one as she suffered an abdominal injury before her semi-final match. She hadn’t competed since the US Open 2021 and thus her body wasn’t yet match ready.

After recovering from the injury, Osaka entered the Australian Open 2022 as the 13th seed. The former champion won the first two rounds with ease. However, she suffered a third-round exit against Amanda Anisimova.

Naomi Osaka will be hoping to make a strong comeback at the WTA 100 BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells).
