Former World No.1 and 23-time major champion Serena Williams might have had a rough season on the WTA tour this year but the American tennis icon has always made her presence felt on digital media by sharing instants from her time with family and also by being endorsing wide range of brands.
After withdrawing midway from her Wimbledon first-round match, Serena Williams didn’t participate in any other tournament and has been spending time at home with daughter and husband. Recently, the American pulled out of Indian Wells event, which made it almost certain that she would like to rest for the season and comeback stronger next year.

DirecTV’s advertisement featuring Serena Williams as Wonder Woman managed to attract scores of fans
Towards the end of August, Serena Williams was part of a commercial for DirecTV, America’s direct broadcast satellite service provider. The American could be seen donning the Wonder Woman costume as fends off tennis bots that went rogue in a mall. This commercial received huge applause from fans as they loved to see the American as a super-hero.

Taking a cue from Serena’s advertisement, a husband-wife photography duo in Atlanta made a cosplay version of young kinds who aspire to become tennis players one day.

In every way, DirecTV has banked upon the opportunity of showcasing Serena Williams as wonder woman and their latest commercial might bring in more subscribers for the company.
Coming to Serena’s performance this year, the former world no.1 managed to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open after defeating the likes of Simona Halep, Aryna Sabalenka, and Anastasia Potapova. However, in the subsequent tournament, the American wasn’t able to exert the same dominance she did in Melbourne.

With an unfortunate injury that forced her to sit out for the rest of the season, Serena Williams will be aiming for her elusive 24th major at the Australian Open next year.
