Yesterday, at Melbourne, the Belarusian tennis star, Aryna Sabalenka, scripted history, as she claimed her first Grand Slam title. After making a successful start to the season, Sabalenka is all set to celebrate her hard-earned victory with her team. However, she dearly misses one person who has been on her team since she first walked onto a tennis court. ‘Her Angel’, her father, who has been her constant driving force.
Sergey Sabalenka, the newly crowned Australian Open champion’s father, was the person who introduced her to tennis, and stood by her like a rock. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, Sabalenka lost her father back in 2019. And despite the silver lining of winning her first major, Sabalenka couldn’t help but miss the absence of her ‘Angel’ as she looks forward to the celebration. And consequently the World No.5 took to Instagram, to share her feelings.
