Eugenie Bouchard is away from competitive professional tennis matches since March 2021. She underwent surgery to repair the torn subscapularis in her right shoulder. After weeks of the recovery process, Genie has again started practicing.

She was socializing in her free time and kept her fans updated through social-media updates. In her recent reel, she shared an “in-house” activity of going through the “Memory Boxes”. She found a Tennis racket that her grandmother used in her younger days.

Bouchard wants to play with wooden rackets
She flaunted the pair of rackets, wherein one was in great condition and the other one had strings broken. She said, “I just uncovered this in my grandma’s closet, out of nowhere, I have never seen them (with rackets found) before. This one has strings never even broken.”
Canadian star explained the racket history as she was enlightened by her grandmother. Granny informed that the Rackets were her 1st ever tennis rackets when she was 19. Genie quickly made calculations for the exact age of the racket as, 65 years.

Former world no. 5 expressed her desire to play with a wooden racket. And even she said that she wanted to do so badly. It might be a very next practice session when Genie will try her hands on the wooden classic Rackets. “We will see how it goes.” said an excited young Canadian.

Eugenie Bouchard spent nearly one year away from the Court
The problematic shoulder was surgically repaired in June 2021, but it took time to get Genie “match fit” again. She spend nearly 1 year away from professional competitions but stayed connected with Tennis.
She worked with the tennis Channel as a broadcaster and also a color commentator. Covering many Tennis events in the process Canadian kept herself connected to the world of tennis.

She also shared her private Yacht vacation photos on her official Instagram account, also signed an endorsement contract with Slinger.
