Maxwell Jacob Friedman has emerged as one of the biggest and most narcissistic talents on the AEW roster. He proved his worth with the incredible run he had with the world title until the end of last year. At Worlds End, The Salt of the Earth went head-to-head with the world title on the line against Samoa Joe. There, he lost the belt due to interference from Adam Cole and his Undisputed Kingdom faction.

Since then, MJF has been absent from AEW’s TV shows, sparking rumors about his potential exit from the company, amid the start of the famous 2024 bidding war between WWE and AEW. It was later reported that the star was taking time to heal from some injuries, particularly one to his shoulder. But people are all aboard the rumor train again after MJF started an online feud with the Rock. So what could it mean? Will we get to see MJF in the WWE? Let’s find out!

The People’s Champ recently shared a picture on Twitter, which was a painting painted by Naomi Rosenblum, Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s ex-fiancee. Rosenblum depicted on canvas the scene with Cody Rhodes bloodied while the Rock holds his aching face with his hands. Sharing the picture, he wrote in the caption, “Love this. What an artistic convergence of emotions 👏🏾👏🏾 I’d like to buy this from you, my team will be in touch. I know a special mom who I’m going to gift this to…. #MamaRhodes – Final Boss”

This did not sit well with MJF. So he published a post responding to the image posted by The Rock on social media. Prompting fans to believe that maybe, just maybe, the WWE is trying to bring back MJF to the WWE.

MJF brings up his reply

Taking to his Twitter account, the AEW star referred to the various whippings received by the American Nightmare in All Elite Wrestling, as he wrote, “First you steal my glorious idea to lash Cody. Now you try to cop art from my ex. I’m a fan. But please Leave me be, Dewey.”

By mentioning his “glorious idea to lash Cody.”, he alludes to a scene that took place before MJF’s bout against Rhodes at AEW Revolution 2020. MJF gave the American Nightmare ten belt whips, and this week leading up to WrestleMania, The Rock too gave Rhodes the same treatment on RAW with a weight belt. So what could this mean for the WWE? And how likely is it that MJF might join the company?
