“Tricky as Political”: Cody Rhodes Gives Snide Remark to the Difference Between Working Under Triple H and Vince McMahon

Cody Rhodes is a known name in the world of pro wrestling. Starting with WWE in his initial days, he has been a part of various other promotions. He made his way back to the Stanford-based promotion back in 2022. He is one of those stars who had the opportunity to work under both Vince McMahon and Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. At the recent press conference after the Fastlane 2023 event, he subtly commented on how vastly different both experiences are.

At the press conference, Rhodes highlighted how the mindset at the promotion has changed drastically. He said, “There is a mindset here at WWE that did not exist maybe it did I didn’t notice but it didn’t exist when I was here the first time, that it is the most team-minded group that I have ever seen” stating that he was unaware of the inclusive nature of WWE.

He then added, “ As far as the show comes together, and this is an individual business it’s tricky as political as show business right you know, and that team mindset like what we have proved so fruitful now.” stating that he can see a vast difference in the working of WWE. The American Nightmare was able to make this comment based on both, his experience with WWE and working as an executive vice president at AEW.

Levesque took over the creative reigns of WWE back in 2022. It was during a time when McMahon had to step down due to various reasons which included a life-threatening situation.

Levesque entered the backstage of WWE as Cheief Content Officer at the promotion in 2022. This happened at a time when McMahon was facing some legal troubles along with health issues. In 2022, the Wall Street Journal published an article that had some controversial news with respect to the proprietor of WWE. Along with that, he had issues with his lower back. For that, he had to undergo surgery and he was advised to bed rest for some time.

During this time, Paul Levesque enters the scene along with Stephanie McMahon, wife of Triple H and daughter of Vince McMahon. Stephanie McMahon was a part of the roster. After that, she was helping her father with the management when she decided to retire to be with her family. Due to her father’s sudden health conditions and allegations, she had to come back to look after his company. During her time, she was commended by other staff who had worked alongside her.
