The now 35-year-old UFC fighter Jones sat for an interview with MMAJunkie. He claimed to model his action career like The Rock. This conversation happened in 2013 during an appearance at the UFC’s “World Tour” in Los Angeles. Jones was 24 years old while doing this interview.
Jones said, “I’d like to model my acting career on Dwayne Johnson, the way he came out of [WWE] and started off tough guy roles and then moved over to doing ‘Tooth Fairy’.”
Bones added, “That’s when you really saw that he could act, and he’s the one I admire and respect a lot, so I know I’d love to model my acting career after (him).”
UFC fighters like Randy Couture, Gina Carano, and current WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey have starred in a few movies. Many sports people try their hand at acting and, if possible, they make a transition into an actor.
There are several challenges for a sports person to join Hollywood. However, after the success of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dwayne Johnson, Jones might have also made aspirations for the same.
