“Whoever Else You Want”: NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Issues a Stern Challenge to 7-Feet AEW Star

Superstars from other walks of life have been known to appear regularly in the squared circle. YouTuber-turned-wrestler Logan Paul’s heroics at Crown Jewel 2022 is still fresh in the fans’ memories. NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is not a newbie when it comes to wrestling. He has had appearances both in the WWE and AEW.

The Basketball star recently appeared to endorse an appearance in the ring, against a wrestling veteran no less.

The 4-time NBA champion came up with this idea while a visit from wrestler Diamond Sheik at his house. The performer was also gifted a belt by O’Neal while at his abode.

Sheik posted a video on his Twitter account boasting about his new ‘Million Dollar Belt’. While at it, the Laker’s star even sounded off a warning to the current AEW star, Paul Wight.

Shaquille O’Neal issues a challenge

O’Neal Said, “You know who I am. I’m the man who beat Cody Rhodes. You’re lucky you’re training with Cody. Anyways, I want to deliver two messages. Number one, nobody messes with The Diamond Sheik, and two, to present this new Diamond Championship belt. Cody, whoever else wants it, Big Show. As a matter of fact, oh no, he’s in LA. Tell you what, Diamond Sheik and Shaq vs. Big Show and whoever else you want. Let’s go, AEW.

Big Shaq last appeared in a wrestling ring back in 2021. He teamed up with Jade Cargill to defeat Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet at an edition of AEW Dynamite.

Trouble brewing for long between the two?

O’Neal and Wight, who is also known as Big Show, have confronted each other previously as well. They crossed paths while the latter was still a WWE superstar.

A battle of behemoths seems an exciting prospect and fans have been waiting for a long time to finally have it. Fellow Basketball legend, Dwight Howard had also issued a challenge to the 15-times NBA All-Star for WrestleMania 39. The mega WWE event is scheduled to happen in LA this year.

Shaquille O’Neal and Diamond Sheik have issued the gauntlet on Paul Wight. It will be very interesting to see if the 7-feet performer accepts this challenge. One more thing worth noting will be the partner that he chooses to accompany him in this battle.

Wrestling fans will be hoping that they finally get to see this long-awaited match unfold. Who will claim the bragging rights in this clash of the two towering individuals?
