WWE Backlash 2023 was one of the best PLEs of this year. The main-event saw Brock Lesnar facing a charged up Cody Rhodes. Even before the match could begin, Rhodes launched an onslaught on The Beast Incarnate and left him hurt before the match.

Throughout the match, the momentum would shift between both the participants, before Rhodes finally busted open Brock Lesnar. After landing face-first on an exposed turnbuckle, Lesnar would be left bleeding profusely.

Over the years, only a select few have been able to defeat Brock Lesnar, and The American Nightmare was able to etch his name on that elite list. Let alone defeating, few have been able to make Lesnar bleed, and Rhodes also entered that list as well. However, after defeating Lesnar and leaving him humiliated, Rhodes’ wife had another embarrassment packed up her sleeve.

After the loss at Rhodes’ hand, Lesnar would be left sitting in the ring dejected. It also signalled that the feud is far from over, and Rhodes might have a storm to look out for.

How did Brandi Rhodes embarrass Brock Lesnar further?

After Cody Rhodes was able to make The Beast go crimson, he would take his blood and wipe it all over his body. This channeled a new Cody Rhodes, a much more vicious and furious one. Fans were in awe to see this new avatar of Rhodes and started cheering him.

However, soon after the match was over, Rhodes’ wife, Brandi Rhodes, took to her Twitter to appreciate her husband and embarrass the Beast further. She would claim, “My husband is covered in blood and it’s not his. Praise Him.” 

This would hint toward how brutal Cody Rhodes has become, and that despite being covered in blood, it is not his but his opponent’s. Fans are now awaiting the second chapter of Rhodes versus Lesnar’s feud, and it might be sooner than they think.

What is next for Cody Rhodes after Backlash 2023?

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes was unable to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, and it hurt his status. However, he made a strong comeback after brutally defeating Brock Lesnar. Rhodes is now scheduled to be in the triple threat for the new World Heavyweight Championship.

However, fans believe that during the match Lesnar would take out Rhodes, leaving him out of the match, and unable to win it. Rhodes is rumored to win the WWE Championship from Roman Reigns in the near future. And his feud against Brock Lesnar is preparing him for it.
