Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s return to WWE during SmackDown was a massive moment for fans. The pop for The Great One was deafening, and it even made The Rock smile. However, behind all this positivity, there was one 33-year-old star who was searching for him.

While The Rock engaged with Austin Theory and Pat McAfee in the ring, one WWE star was hoping to rub shoulders with the WWE legend. However, since this never came to be, the star trash-talker decided to poke fun at the returning wrestler.

During a backstage segment, Waller looked at the camera and said, “The Rock comes back to SmackDown, he gets out of his car, and he runs off.” He continues by saying that he had been searching the venue for The Great One but could not find him. Despite not getting the satisfaction of having a highly anticipated confrontation with The Rock, Waller was not disappointed.

Back in July of this year, Waller debuted at Madison Square Garden against Edge. Despite losing the match, Waller took to social media to diss The Great One by comparing both their debuts at MSG. Waller took digs at The Rock’s attire during his debut, which resulted in The Rock responding with a great comeback sprinkled with his iconic insults.

This interaction led to fans believing the two could have a short feud. Now, with The Rock back on SmackDown, fans and Waller were excited for the possible feud. However, Waller ended his backstage segment by saying, “I’ve got bigger fish to fry, The Greatest Of All Time, John Cena.” This got a loud pop from the fans as John Cena was among those Waller went after in earlier episodes.

The possibility of a feud between Waller and Cena excites fans. Both wrestlers are brilliant on the mic and have great in-ring ability. With Cena taking on the role of putting over new stars, it would be a massive push for Waller at a big PPV event. The 16-time World Heavyweight Champion will be on the next episode of The Grayson Waller Effect, where fans will see where the feud will be heading.

The two shared the ring in July at Money In The Bank in London. Similar to The Rock, Cena made a surprise entrance to a thunderous pop. Unfortunately, he was rudely interrupted by Waller, who ended up eating an AA from The Leader of The Cenation. There are many directions this feud could go in. Many believe that it could include The Miz and LA Knight. The two had had a match at Payback with Cena as the special guest referee.
