Dave Meltzer claims that Kevin Owens fractured his foot prior to the Royal Rumble match

In news that is quite a revelation to many, we have learned that Kevin Owens gave it his all in a great fight against Logan Paul despite suffering from a severe injury. And not just any injury, but a fractured foot! Despite this, Owens continued battling Logan Paul and fought for 14 minutes. Dave Meltzer revealed this news in the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. These were his statements: “Kevin Owens worked the Royal Rumble match vs. Logan Paul with a fractured foot. Owens fractured the foot in his 1/5 Smackdown match against Santos Escobar.”

At the moment, we do not know how severe the fracture is or if he will recover in time to be a participant at WrestleMania 40. However, it must be remembered that Owens is not new to being on the receiving end of such injuries. In 2020, he injured his ankle, and in 2023, he suffered fractures of the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones as he faced Grayson Waller in a singles bout.

Throughout the match, Waller attacked Owens’ hand, and the commentary team suggested that Owens may have suffered a broken hand. In a SmackDown Exclusive after the show, Owens was getting ready to get an X-ray of his hand. And later on in an update, WWE’s official Twitter account announced that Owens fractured his fourth and fifth metacarpal. Because of the broken hand, he had to wear a cast. This was later turned into an angle where Logan threatened legal action against Owens for punching him while wearing the cast and how he could not wear it in their match at the Royal Rumble.
