The wrestling universe is eying the change in the product of WWE after Vince McMahon announced his retirement last week. They named Stephanie McMahon as Co-CEO and Chairperson of WWE. However, it leaves us with the question of where Shane McMahon stands in this post-Vince era.

Earlier this year in February, Shane O’Mac was removed from all future WWE programming. This was due to the last-moment changes done in this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match, which left many WWE superstars disappointed, including Brock Lesnar.

Recently, Fightful Select shared a report regarding Shane McMahon’s WWE status while Vince McMahon was still there. Back in February, there were reports that Mr. McMahon was himself disappointed after noticing the Royal Rumble booking by his son.

The report states, “Vince McMahon himself was said to have made the decision to part ways with Shane McMahon in a professional capacity in WWE. Those close to Vince noted he went as far as to say Shane “would never get another pop in this company as long as I’m around.”

Further, it stated, “They did say that McMahon’s frustration with Shane was “extreme, but justified,” and said once Shane McMahon compromised Brock Lesnar’s satisfaction with a match, that was the end of the line.”

The last-minute changes done by Shane McMahon were not in the favor of Brock Lesnar. Even though Lesnar won this year’s Royal Rumble but he was not happy with the changes. The Beast Incarnate had wrestled a match that night against Bobby Lashley before entering the Rumble match at #30.

After Vince McMahon has announced his retirement, there is no news yet of WWE planning to bring back Shane McMahon.
