The latest edition of Raw saw Cody Rhodes come full circle with his old rival, Seth Rollins. Although the duo ended up teaming up against Judgement Day at the end of the night, they had a heated moment in the ring during the start of the show. Seth Rollins, who has suffered three consecutive losses at the hands of Rhodes, implied that Rhodes needed to beat him to feel that he could beat anybody in the world. 

This came after Rhodes imparted to the WWE Universe what it exactly feels like to defeat Brock Lesnar. After Rollins planted the seed for their potential rematch, fans took to social media to pick Rollins apart for his bravado. 

Seth Rollins wants to redeem himself against his real-life rival, Cody Rhodes

It’s no secret that Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are at odds in real life. Rhodes has been vocal about his animosity with Seth Rollins in the recent past. During the show, Cody Rhodes came out to celebrate his win over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. 

Not only did The American Nightmare beat Lesnar cleanly, but he also earned his respect, which is a big deal for anybody in the wrestling business. Rhodes went on to say that he feels like he could beat anybody in the world, given that he defeated a guy like Brock Lesnar.

Rhodes’ jubilation, however, came to a screeching halt, as Seth Rollins made his way out in yellow crock boots and sunglasses. Rollins then suggested that Rhodes needed a victory over him to validate his ability against any opponent worldwide.

The Judgment Day interrupted them as they began bickering with each other. Soon enough, The Judgement Day members attacked Rollins and Rhodes, prompting the 2023 Royal Rumble winner to throw a tag team challenge at them. We should also note that Sami Zayn came to the aid of both stars while they were being attacked.

Ultimately, the match was made, and Rollins and Rhodes stood tall at the end of the night, working together despite their differences. However, the WWE Universe was not thrilled about the fact that Rollins tried to downplay Rhodes’ SummerSlam accomplishment. 

Cody Rhodes has nothing to prove to Seth Rollins

Cody Rhodes marked his momentous comeback at WrestleMania 38, engaging in an exhilarating match against Seth Rollins. On the grand stage, Rollins ended up on the unfavorable side of the outcome.

Rollins later aimed for a chance at redemption during Backlash, but his efforts were in vain once more. Adding to this, Rhodes triumphed over Rollins at Hell in a Cell, securing his victory for the third consecutive time despite grappling with a serious injury.

Nonetheless, fans were not having it when Rollins prompted Rhodes to test his mettle against him once again on Raw. Here are a few reactions on Instagram-

To be fair, Cody Rhodes has nothing to prove to Seth Rollins. But let’s not forget that The Visionary is still the top Champion on Raw. For Rhodes to become the face of the show, he is going to have to dethrone Rollins. Well, judging by the way things unfolded at the end of the night, Seth Rollins found a new opponent in Shinsuke Nakamura.
