WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes is known for his exceptional mic work. The American Nightmare has the razor-sharp words of a heel. But he also has the magnanimous energy of a babyface that pulls on people’s emotions. This is even more clearly visible in his current feud with Dwayne Johnson.

But, while his allure has benefited him all this while, it has also got him into a little bit of trouble. The Renaissance makeover of the Cody Rhodes image made everyone follow and even remember his promos by heart. Now, a news update says that The American Nightmare chose to slander Johnson by revisiting a roast he framed for Chris Jericho.

Cody Rhodes has delivered several inspiring speeches, dialogues, and monologues ever since his WWE return. Several people are so connected to his goal of finishing the story, that they are ready to stand up to The Rock as well. However, a new video on X showcased The American Nightmare reliving an old dream.

The video showed two frames of Cody Rhodes, one from the latest episode of Raw, and another from AEW. Speaking to Johnson, he said, “But, Rock, you are also a terrible salesman, a carny succubus, and for those who don’t know what that means, you’re a whiny b***h.” Similar lines were used in his AEW segment as well.

Cody Rhodes’ old footage saw him saying, “You’ve called me an entitled millennial bitch. When you call me an entitled millennial, I call you a carny succubus because of the dirty secret about you. The dirty secret is you need this generation more than it needs you, and you’ve surrounded yourself with impressionable youth.” A similar line was also thrown at The Rock where Rhodes said that Johnson needs the current locker room more than the locker room needs him.

While the scripts do seem fresh at first glance, they carry the same keywords that define them. But, this doesn’t go to show that Cody Rhodes has lost his originality. In fact, compared to The Rock, who sticks to a set group of catchphrases, Rhodes used Johnson’s own words to insult him.

When Rhodes had the upper hand at The WrestleMania kickoff

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently got his rights reserved to several of his catchphrases like ‘jabroni’ and ‘candy a**’. However, while the new TKO Board Member patented his own stuff, Cody Rhodes also took inspiration from Johnson’s lingo.

Moreover, he went after the most popular catchphrase The Rock owns. Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns were discussing how great their Samoan family tree is. They also notified the WWE arena of their contribution to that tree.

However, Cody Rhodes barged in between and said, “And what is this match all about right here? Who sits at the head of the table? What does it matter when neither of you have been doing any of the cooking for two years?” Thus, with just one line, Rhodes got a pop from the audience for dissing both Roman Reigns and The Rock.
