Throughout this ‘Road to WrestleMania’, we witness how one of the best rivalries of all time was formed between The Rock and Cody Rhodes. And that too, while Rhodes was building a feud with Roman Reigns at the same time. Thus resulting in the match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Though the feud ended with Cody Rhodes finally winning the championship, can we really say the feud has ended? In the last edition of RAW, The Rock interrupted ‘The American Nightmare’ to tell him that he would be coming back for him and his belt. Before finally parting with a mystery gift. And it seems like the Rock is serious about the feud as he has challenged Cody Rhodes yet again in a recently uploaded video.

Dwayne Johnson k recently took to his Instagram to share a post-WrestleMania update with his fans. In the video, he talked about his training camp for the Showcase of the Immortals, as well as his post-recovery phase. He praised the fans and his fellow wrestlers for putting up a spectacular Show of Shows. And that is when he congratulated his competitors Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, while also sending a message to the American Nightmare. The Rock said, “I want to say congratulations to the men I was in the ring with. These guys are the best on the planet. Congratulations to Cody Rhodes, the new Universal Champion. As I had said when the Final Boss returns, he’s coming back for you. Make you bleed again boy.”

WWE looks to put on a blockbuster affair for a blockbuster card

As reported by Dave Meltzer via Wrestling Observer Radio, the possible date for a Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock showdown will not happen at any point before WrestleMania 41. Therefore, we would have to wait throughout the year for ‘Final Boss’ to return so that this confrontation between the two superstars can unfold.

Another credible source has also reiterated the same. According to the latest report from the Wrestling Observer, The Rock will most likely be absent from television until WrestleMania 41. Although there is a possibility that he will return to competition towards the end of this year, it seems to be a more complicated option at the moment. Additionally, it is reported that he initially had an interest in facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. But now his current preference would be to have a showdown with Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41.

WrestleMania 41 is still a long way off and it’s likely that WWE and Triple H are still working on plans for the event. So it will be interesting to see how the stories of Dwayne Johnson, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns unfold in the coming months. And how they fit into the plans for the big event. What do you think? What did you make of The Rock’s ominous message to Cody Rhodes after thanking him? Let us know in the comments.
