WWE is insanely popular for the sheer entertainment and value it brings to its fans via its storylines. However, while a lot of effort goes into these stories, WWE has often delayed or trashed some stories when something new happens. A similar scenario might unfold amidst the sparks flying between Roman Reigns and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Dwayne Johnson has lately shown interest in finally taking down Roman Reigns, fulfilling the wishes of several WWE fans. But, the new Netflix deal can potentially delay this demand cashing in. Here are the key reasons why this is possible and how it could affect other things as well.

According to the news, WWE and Netflix have entered a new partnership and WWE Raw will stream on the OTT platform from January 2025. This calls for WWE to give fans a mega-hit match when they have greater and better access to the episodes. Right now, the only match that carries this status is the Dwayne Johnson vs Roman Reigns match.

While WWE doesn’t find itself short of amazing stories, the star power carried by both these wrestlers is just too high. Moreover, the sudden entry of Dwayne Johnson seemed like a forceful entry on the writing side of things. But now, if the WWE chooses to postpone The Rock versus Roman Reigns match, it will easily set the following things straight.

Removing the foreign element from a well-built mesh

Cody Rhodes has been successfully hyping the audience and giving them hope that he will win the WWE Championship. While many expected the main event of WrestleMania 40 to be a WrestleMania 39 rematch between Reigns and Rhodes, The Rock’s entry immediately thwarted this.

With Dwayne Johnson in the equation, the harmony of the plot built for two long years immediately became endangered. Moreover, Reigns will soon find himself in a Fatal Four Way at Royal Rumble, facing Randy Orton and LA Knight as well. Adding Dwayne Johnson to the mix just torpedoed the aftermath of this match.

Keeping these factors in mind, the delay can fix many things for WWE, as making The Rock lose against Roman Reigns can bring a severe backlash. Moreover, WWE’s absentee champion only comes to the arena a few times and only fights with his title on the line.

Making Dwayne Johnson win the WWE title will usher in more loose ends. Hence, a delay can actually be good for the pro wrestling outfit. What are your thoughts about this?
