Following CM Punk and Brock Lesnar Career Paths, WWE Champion Announces His Wish to “Step in the Octagon”

WWE superstars Montez Ford and Bianca Belair appeared in the UFC 298 at Honda Center, Anaheim, CA. While Montez Ford appeared for the show, he was later interviewed by TNT Sports media personnel Caroline Pearce. As it is common for superstars from respective shows to cross the doors, it is also common for them to show interest in each other’s sport. Hence, during the interview, Montez Ford revealed his desire to appear in the UFC ring as a competitor but under a special condition.

TNT Sports took to X on February 18th to post a clip from an interview segment featuring Montez Ford and Bianca Belair. When asked about their intent to join UFC in the future, Montez Ford revealed his secret desire. He said, “100%, I do get nervous about messing up this pretty face. But I will say, I have always been a fan of it. I have always trained for it. It is something I was talking about in the last 2 years about actually going over in and having a match.”

It is clear that Montez Ford, despite wondering about his pretty face, has been interested in the octagon since 2021. His agility in the squared circle tells us that he has always been preparing for high-activity combat sports. Ford also revealed that he wants to have a match at UFC.

Ford later gave examples of WWE stars Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, who also watched the show, and his mentor, Bobby Lashley, all of whom turned towards UFC in their career. He said, “You know CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and even Bobby Lashley, the guy I’m with now, doing different promotions.” While Brock Lesnar was a Heavyweight Champion at UFC, Punk and Lashley had a brief stay. Interestingly Punk was also interviewed by Caroline the same night and Ford, along with Angelo Dawkins, is working with Lashley.

Regardless of his interest in the sport, Montez Ford had to let go of the thought. After expressing his desire to be a part of the UFC, Montet Ford explained the reason why he had to drop the idea. He said, “So, something I had interest in but it got shut down quickly by…[Bianca Belair]” Ford was pointing towards his wife, Bianca Belair who was standing next to him, indicating that she suggested to drop the idea. However, Belair is afraid that her husband may come back with a permanent gruesome face.
