Kofi Kingston had been out of action since March due to an ankle injury. Kingston then made his return to RAW exactly a month ago and his first target was The Viking Raiders. That hasn’t changed even after a month as last night on RAW, Kofi Kingston went one-on-one with the vicious Ivar and delivered a killer performance.

His teammate Big E glorified his performance as one of the best he’s ever seen from Kingston.

Kofi Kingston sure does know how to get the crowd pumped up with his energetic dance moves. And he did exactly that before the dark Ivar appeared and changed the entire atmosphere of the arena. Earlier, The Viking Raiders were set to compete against Kingston and Xavier Woods in a tag team match.

But Erik was medically unfit for the bout so WWE converted the match into a singles bout. Kingston definitely had a bone to pick with Ivar, as a few weeks ago Ivar threw Kingston like a kid on Drew McIntyre sitting ringside.

Ivar seemed much in command during the entire match, even delivering a frog splash on Kingston while he lay on the concrete floor. But Kingston used his in-ring athleticism to eventually defeat Ivar convincingly. Fellow New Day teammate Big E was missing out on the scintillating action but he showed his appreciation for Kingston on Twitter by calling him a “legend”. He tweeted, “I’m clearly biased but I’m thankful we still get to watch @TrueKofi deliver incredible performances this deep into his career. Grateful for you, legend, while we still have you in the ring”.

Indeed, a legend like Kofi Kingston still delivers the same athletic maneuvers he did at the start of his career. And all this in spite of just recovering from a horrific ankle injury.

On March 3, during a segment on SmackDown, Drew McIntyre did a dive over the top rope onto Kofi Kingston who was standing below. This resulted in Kingston horrifically breaking his ankle and being immediately rushed to the hospital. Some wrestlers like SmackDown’s Kit Wilson believed that this was just karma

He then had to undergo ankle surgery and was out of action for almost 6 months. During this period, he posted his recovery updates on social media and fans continued to send their well wishes. However, he truly proved his might as he engaged in a bout with Ivar on the recent edition of Raw.
