It was indeed unexpected when the WWE chief Vince McMahon, who had been running the show for 40 years, stepped down from all the positions at WWE. 

The Big Man retired after the allegations of harassment against him popped up recently. The payments made by Vince to his former female employees are now being investigated by the SEC, according to the ‘Wall Street Journal’ report

With McMahon out of the picture, his daughter Stephanie McMahon has officially taken the position as co-CEO with Nick Khan. Moreover, Triple H has also been assigned as the new Head of the Creative department at WWE.

However, following the big news, the entire wrestling universe had shared various reactions. WWE superstar Rey Mysterio had such a shocking reaction to the retirement of Vince McMahon.

For the past few weeks, many wrestling icons have commented on the boss man’s retirement and the new changes.

When asked by a reporter during his appearance at the Leagues Cup Showcase 2022, the former WWE champion Rey Mysterio said, “We still are in denial that he’s no longer there, but it is reality, and we have to accept it. So, you know, we move on. We keep the show-up and running.”

Further, Mysterio has been in pro wrestling since he was 14 years old. After perfecting the Mexican style of wrestling, he made his debut in the WWE in 2002. The bond with McMahon is strong for The Giant Killer as he has worked with the WWE chief for the last 20 years.

Rey Mysterio has bagged several titles under his name while working with Vince McMahon. During that time, he was a Grand Slam Champion, winning the United States Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the Tag Team Championships five times, and the World Championship three times. Hence, getting a shocked reaction from him on his retirement does not sound surprising.

Twenty years after his debut in 2002, Rey Mysterio is still going strong. The WWE champion is now appearing on Monday Night Raw with his son Dominik. After 20 years, he’s still entertaining the audience with his powerful moves. He is now more focused on his storyline and wants to give his best to the fans.
