From Snoop Dogg to Donald Trump, the Biggest Celebrities to Appear at WWE WrestleMania

WrestleMania season is upon us, and it’s time to break out the celebrities. Vince McMahon had the ultimate vision of mixing wrestling with entertainment to create an extravaganza unlike anything seen before. This year, Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny will join the list of celebrity appearances, but who came before him?

WrestleMania celebrities in the 1980s

The very first WrestleMania took place in 1985 at Madison Square Garden. The main event of that PPV featured a tag team match, pitting Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper vs Hulk Hogan and Hollywood star Mr. T. He put on his best performance since Rocky III and won the first WrestleMania main event.

If Mr. T winning the match is impressive, the guest referee for the match was the legendary Muhammad Ali. Musician Cyndi Lauper played Wendi Richter’s manager for her match against Leilani Kai.

At WrestleMania 3, the legendary Ray Charles sang the national anthem. English rockstar Ozzy Osbourne led the British Bulldogs to the ring, and boxing legend Joe Frazier managed Mr. T for his boxing match against Roddy Piper.

At WrestleMania III, the late great Aretha Franklin serenaded the record-breaking crowd with her rendition of America The Beautiful. Another famous musician and rock icon Alice Cooper managed Jake Roberts for his match against the Honky Tonk Man.

The celebrities of the 1990s

With a new era arriving in the WWE, celebrity guests changed as well. Iconic athletes like Pete Rose, Lawrence Taylor, and Mike Tyson played big parts in the grand ‘Mania festivities.

Tyson played the enforcer at ringside for Shawn Michaels vs Stone Cold Steve Austin’s WWE Championship match. He even decked HBK after the match ended. Pete Rose had a famous altercation with Kane and ate a Tombstone Piledriver for his troubles. As for Lawrence Taylor, he became the only celebrity to main event WrestleMania.

At WrestleMania XI, actresses Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy led Diesel and HBK to the ring for their WWE Championship match.

R&B group Boyz II Men sang the American national anthem at ‘Mania 15, and Little Richard graced the stage at WrestleMania X.

WrestleMania celebrities of the 2000s

With the Attitude Era ushering in a vast change in the wrestling landscape, WrestleMania celebrities were due for an update too. Out went the R&B singers and famous actresses and rap groups, supermodels and even more legendary artists made their way to the WWE.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian played the host of WrestleMania 24, and at the same event, Floyd Mayweather Jr. stepped into the ring with the Big Show. The star of the movie ‘The Wrestler’ Mickey Rourke arrived at ‘Mania 25 to knock out Chris Jericho.

Kid Rock’s mini concert at WrestleMania 25 might’ve been hated, but Limp Bizkit’s performance of Rollin’ for the Undertaker’s entrance was absolutely incredible.

Finally, perhaps the most iconic celebrity appearance in WrestleMania history came in 2007. The now former President of the United States Donald Trump battled Vince McMahon in the battle of the billionaires.

WrestleMania celebs of the 2010s

We kick off the 2010s with WrestleMania 26, which featured names like Freddie Prinze Jr and Bob Uecker, who would enter the Hall of Fame that year.

WrestleMania 28 saw Florida perform before The Rock‘s entrance and also performed his hit single Wild Ones. Also at WrestleMania 28 was Machine Gun Kelly, who performed ‘Invincible’ with Skylar Grey.

The band Living Color performed CM Punk‘s entrance song at Met Life Stadium, which is their biggest hit ‘Cult of Personality’. In 2005, Motorhead performed Triple H‘s theme, which is also their own hit single ‘The Game’.

Shag shocked the world by entering the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. If Shaq was a shock, Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost and Michael Che entered the match in 2019.

One of the most iconic entrances of all time at The Show of Shows is Sasha Banks‘ entrance before her big title match and her cousin Snoop Dogg walked her down the ramp.
