One of the biggest rivalries occurring at WWE is the one between Intercontinental Champion Gunther and Chad Gable. One of the best and most highly-rated wrestlers, Chad Gable has proven himself as a formidable opponent. However, he had been yet to get one over on Gunther and steal his title. During his match with Gunther last year, he had a great singles run. He was the only person on the main lineup to beat The Ring General. But since it was a count-out win, he couldn’t take the title from him.

Even though he fought the Mighty Austrian again, he couldn’t win. Though their feud wasn’t wrapped up, the IC Champion went on to other stories and feuds. But, recently during a WWE live event, Gable managed to defeat The Ring General.

Amazingly, Gunther loses to the 37-year-old Superstar right before his Raw title match

Not long ago, Chad Gable was interviewed by the Battleground Podcast. In it, he talked about his unfinished story with Gunther. Gable talked about his rivalry with Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship and said that he never had a happy ending to it. He wanted to end his story by beating Gunther and becoming the Intercontinental Champion.

Now, details are in for the second live WWE Road to WrestleMania event of the week, which happened on Sunday, February 18 in Fresno, California. There were stars from both RAW and SmackDown. Chad Gable beat Gunther to win the Intercontinental title. It was Gable who won, however, because Imperium got in the way, the title did not change hands.

When The New Day came out to join the Alpha Academy members, they made it a six-man tag team match. In the end, Gable and The New Day did well.

It was a surprise to fans because Gunther has been winning a lot since he became Intercontinental Champion. Some people thought that Gable might get another chance to win the Intercontinental Championship because he lost. Hopefully, Gable will be able to get another chance, as tonight, Gunther is set to go against Jey Uso in another title bout on Monday Night Raw.

Could Jey Uso be the one to depose Gunther as champion?

On Raw this week, Gunther’s record-setting title tenure may come to an end. The current IC Champion is in danger from Jey Uso, who has been a constant on the red brand for months. Especially as Uso hasn’t won a WWE singles title yet. 

And getting the working man’s title is the best way to start things off. It was said a few months ago that Uso was set to meet his twin brother Jimmy at WrestleMania. Recent television broadcasts have not featured those intentions. Is it possible, though, that Jimmy Uso will show up at Jey’s party on Raw? After that, it would be made clear whether The Usos would reunite and go to Philadelphia.
