Dwayne Johnson is one of the most prolific and talented actors in Hollywood, Making his way in without any Hollywood connections, he is one of the world’s most recognizable faces right now. Naturally, The Rock would be one of the favorites to grace global cinema’s biggest award ceremony, The Oscars. But is he invited this year? And if he is, what part will he be playing?

Despite this time shift, the show is sticking to many traditional Academy Awards customs, with Jimmy Kimmel returning as host and past winners returning as presenters. Now the main news of the event is that Dwayne Johnson will also be present there. The announcement was made on The Academy’s official X page. 

With the awards ceremony set for March 10, the Academy has swiftly announced this year’s presenters for the Oscars 2024, including:

  • Bad Bunny
  • Chris Hemsworth
  • Michael Keaton, 
  • Regina King, 
  • Jennifer Lawrence
  • Kate McKinnon, 
  • Rita Moreno, 
  • John Mulaney, 
  • Catherine O’Hara, 
  • Octavia Spencer, and 
  • Ramy Youssef. 

Hollywood gears up for the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday. The event, scheduled to kick off, is starting an hour earlier than usual.

This week, The Hollywood Reporter announced that five previous winners will introduce the current nominees in all four acting categories, a format the Academy first tried some 15 years ago. This year’s Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles on March 10.

The broadcast will be available on ABC and various outlets worldwide. While the event promises to be entertaining with Johnson as the presenter, the lingering question remains: has he ever won an Oscar himself?

Will Dwayne Johnson ever win an Oscar?

The simple answer to whether The Rock won an Oscar is no. He did get nominated for Academy Awards and won a ton of other awards over the span of his Hollywood career. However, Johnson never actually won an Oscar.

As per reports till 2023, Johnson has 17 awards and 73 nominations. Among his notable roles and films are “Black Adam,” “Moana,” “Hobbs & Shaw,” “Central Intelligence,” “Rampage,” the “Jumanji” film series, the “Fast and Furious” film series, and “Baywatch.” Additionally, he has appeared in television shows such as “The 70s Show,” “Star Trek,” “Wake-up Call,” and “Ballers.” His co-star Emily Blunt did predict that he would win an Oscar someday.
