WWE Royal Rumble 2022 was an interesting event with various legends and superstars’ unexpected returns. However, in the Men’s Royal Rumble at number 28, it was none other than “The Prodigal Son,” Shane McMahon, who made a return.
During the Rumble, he was able to eliminate Kevin Owens until Brock Lesnar, who won the Men’s Royal Rumble match, eliminated Shane.
Shane O’Mac has not been seen in a WWE match since April 2021. At WrestleMania 37, Shane faced Braun Strowman in a steel cage match. “The Monster Among Men” won the Steel Cage Match after throwing Shane McMahon from the top of the cage.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Vince McMahon’s son is back for more action after the Royal Rumble. Shane O’Mac is reportedly booked for both the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 38.
Dave Meltzer stated that McMahon “has a match on the books, but it was said to have not been finalized a few days ago, which is evidently why they did no angle with him (at the Rumble).“

The heat between WWE locker room and Shane McMahon
Besides this report, Shane McMahon also played an essential role behind the scenes of Royal Rumble 2022. However, it did not turn out to be great for him.
Steve Carrier of Ringside News reported that Shane McMahon was the lead writer and producer of the Men’s Royal Rumble match.

Shane McMahon was producer and lead writer for the Men's Royal Rumble match and there is A TON of heat on him today for it.
We were told that Shane was fighting everyone, booking himself to be one of the last one's out, & he has the entire locker room really angry.

Shane McMahon booked himself as one of the final entrants of the Men’s Royal Rumble match. Due to this decision, the entire locker room is angry at him. However, that won’t stop Shane McMahon from competing in two Premium Live Events.

What can we predict for Vince McMahon’s son?

The Elimination Chamber will be set in Saudi Arabia and will take place on February 19. The last time Shane was in Saudi Arabia was at the WWE Super ShowDown 2019, where he defeated Roman Reigns.
WrestleMania 38 meanwhile, will be held in Texas on April 2, 2022. There can be a lot we can speculate about “The Prodigal Son”. Although, the current heat between the WWE locker room and Shane McMahon can be unpredicted.

Even though he has been booked for WrestleMania 38 and The Elimination Chamber, we still don’t know who will go against him. The road to WrestleMania for Shane O’Mac can be narrowed down to the upcoming weekly shows RAW and SmackDown if he appears on the television during the shows.
