After the two-day extravaganza that was WrestleMania XL, Triple H opened the post-Mania episode of Monday Night RAW. After thanking the fans for making this Mania the biggest in history, he announced something interesting. Hunter said, “The man who will lead us into that new era.” Prior to Mania, there was a wind of change in the WWE, and now we know who that person is.

Even at WrestleMania XL Night #2, Stephine McMahon announced that the WWE was in the Paul Levesque era. Fans will see a new era in the WWE with the Netflix deal ahead.

Hunter continued, “The Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes.” Interestingly, HHH didn’t mention the term ‘Universal’, leading to the tease of a new term for the champion. Cody Rhodes was the face of the company leading into WrestleMania, and after defeating Roman Reigns, he solidified his top-dog status. He’s been slowly setting the foundations for dethroning Reigns as the WWE Universal Champion for a year. After losing on Night #1 to The Rock and Reigns, the odds seemed against him on Night #2.

However, the former AEW star defied the odds with some help from Seth Rollins, John Cena, and The Undertaker. Pinning Reigns and ending his reign, Rhodes and his family and friends had the biggest celebration at Mania XL. This episode of WWE RAW continued that celebration with fans in attendance cheering for the new champ.

However, things took a tumultuous turn as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson soon came out to confront the new face of the company. Despite taking out Cena at Mania, The Undertaker ensured The Rock would not be a hurdle for Rhodes. Nevertheless, The Brahma Bull had some words for the new champion.

The Rock lays down the law by hinting at a feud with Cody Rhodes

After a very awkward title exchange, The Rock claimed that the title belt looked better on him. This would be the start of Johnson hinting at a future feud between the two of them. The Rock continued by saying that he was leaving for a while. The Hollywood star has to tend to his movie commitments but he has a score to settle. He alluded to this by saying “The Rock is going to come back for you.”
