WWE Superstar John Cena is known for his generosity and humility. The praise of this trait of Cena extends beyond the WWE Universe and is known throughout the globe. However, this doesn’t mean that the world’s biggest baby face didn’t have moments of anger.

The 16-time WWE Champ has put over several WWE Superstars in his career. But, a new online video upload suggests that John Cena may have ended the career of another pro wrestler by joining hands with Vince McMahon. So, is Cena really a hundred percent good guy, or, just like his catchphrase, his evil side can’t be seen?

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell recently suggested that John Cena’s rumored dislike for a former WWE Superstar, Alex Riley, may have impeded his career progress in the Stamford-based promotion. Riley, a prominent figure in World Wrestling Entertainment from 2007 to 2016, gained recognition for his alliance and rivalry with The Miz during his tenure with WWE.

During the 30th edition of “Ask Dutch Anything,” the former manager addressed a fan’s inquiry about John Cena’s rumored negativity towards Alex Riley and how it may have affected the 42-year-old star’s success in WWE. “I heard about it; I think he remembers earlier I was talking. That it doesn’t take a lot to lose your push, not with Vince—not with him in charge. He could be anything, so Cena probably didn’t like Alex Riley,” Dutch Mantell responded.

He also stated, “So he probably just went and poured his heart out to Vince. ‘Well, we can fix that,’ they just didn’t tell Riley anything and just stopped pushing him. Probably, I don’t know if it’s true. I, Alex Riley, will never know if it’s true or not. But his thesis on it or his final thought on it, that’s probably true because I’ve seen it done, and I think it was done in this case.” In multiple instances, there were one-on-one matches between John Cena and The A-Lister.

Now Riley would intervene by distracting the referee, aiding the latter’s victory. Despite fans’ initial love when he turned babyface on The Miz, Riley’s trajectory declined afterward as WWE failed to capitalize on his potential. But Mantell was not over and had a lot more to talk about Cena’s backstage behavior too.

During the same interview, the interviewer asked about Cena’s backstage tactics. To which the former Mantell opened up with not-so-good remarks.

“If Cena didn’t want to do it or he didn’t like how (…) See, the writers would come up with the finish, how they wanted it to end. They wouldn’t come up with the exact mode or method they wanted to use (…) If they worked it out before Cena got on the scene, well, he’s gonna change it all. He didn’t like this. He didn’t like that,” he said.

Dutch Mantell revealed that John Cena was vocal about his preferences when it came to working with others. It was even going as far as adjusting planned matches backstage if he wasn’t satisfied with his WWE opponent.
