Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE last year in July. He stepped down from the role of CEO and Chairman in July 2022 but returned to the company as executive chairman of the company in January. However, a recent report shows that McMahon might have to take another long hiatus, similar to last year once again, seven months after his return.

A recent report shared by CNBC revealed that McMahon was served with a federal grand jury subpoena and search warrant. WWE shared the details of the same with CNBC.

As per CNBC’s report, McMahon received a subpoena over the investigation of last year’s misconduct allegations. WWE also believes it is, “a continuation of the investigation that commenced last summer. WWE has cooperated throughout and fully understands and respects the government’s need for a complete process.”

In a separate statement, McMahon told CNBC, “I have always denied any intentional wrongdoing and continue to do so. I am confident that the government’s investigation will be resolved without any findings of wrongdoing.” The search warrant and subpoena were sent on July 17 this year.

As of now, Vince McMahon is on medical leave since July 21st according to WWE. He reportedly underwent spinal surgery, which was nearly 5 hours long. Moreover, ‘Vinnie-Mac’ will be on medical leave until WWE shares an update. But he will stay on as the Executive Chairman of WWE in the meantime.

In 2022, there was a special committee to investigate the matter of misconduct allegations against McMahon as per the disclosure of WWE. Reportedly, it ended in the fourth quarter of the same year. But as WWE said the government-related investigation was still ongoing.
