The rivalry between WWE and AEW has been an ever-lasting battle for the past few years. With wrestlers jumping ships from one promotion to another, the battle to emerge on top has only intensified. Several superstars over the years have given their take on which company is superior, however, we haven’t established any solid answers. Attempting to do that now is a wrestler who’s worked in both promotions.

He later transitioned to SmackDown in 2017, feuding with several superstars on the roster. But not getting a chance to consistently prove his prowess, he asked for his release in 2019. Dillinger stunned his fans when he went all elite, with a new name, Shawn Spears and now he’s a constant. He even joined a faction led by AEW Champion MJF, called The Pinnacle in 2020.

After working with both companies, Spears has now given his take on the differences between the brands. According to WrestlingInc, Spears said: “They both are big companies. They both move fast so television is television, it’s the same. If you’ve been in the industry long enough you understand how it works. A television show needs to be put on.”

Talking about the fans, the “Chairman” quoted: “In terms of WWE fans and AEW fans going against each other, I don’t care what side you’re on because, at the end of the day, you’re talking about wrestling. “You’re furthering the growth of the industry. As long as somebody is watching wrestling I don’t give a sh*t.”

However, he did mention how WWE did put more time into the establishment of characters, partly because of its longevity.

Khan, in his own way, hit back at the Game, by citing their popularity in several territories, especially in the UK. AEW fans backed the argument as AEW All In break all records.

Besides them, legend Chris Jericho also once made bold claims, by placing AEW over WWE. He also added how AEW’s hospitality and treatment were a million times better than WWE’s. But WWE has its own defenders, like Kurt Angle, who feels they are monetarily way ahead of Khan’s business.
