Mid-match, as expected, Vinci tried to cause a distraction that did not work in favor of Kaiser. Rather than provide Kaiser with a window to take down Ciampa, it just distracted the referee. This resulted in Kaiser missing a good pinfall opportunity on Ciampa. Losing his temper with Vinci, Kaiser left Ciampa alone. This gave Ciampa an opportunity to hit Kaiser with a running knee for the pin.

Looking at the camera post-match, Ciampa said, “Sign the Damn Contract.” This enraged Gunther, who was watching it live backstage. The match was good, with Ciampa proving to be a good opponent for Gunther. The contract signing is scheduled for next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW.

How Ciampa earned his shot at Gunther’s title

Gunther has been the proud owner of the Intercontinental Championship belt. However, this pride did make him say that if anyone could beat his Imperium boys, they would get a title shot. This is exactly what Ciampa did during the last episode of RAW; he beat Vinci. This episode saw him beat Kaiser. Now, all that is left is Gunther himself.

Unfortunately for Kaiser, Gunther was not too pleased by his loss. Trying to avoid Gunther’s rage, he claimed it was Vinci’s fault. This distrust among the Imperium members could see the fall of Gunther as the reigning Intercontinental champion.
