There have been numerous changes made in this week’s episode of SmackDown. Vince McMahon had multiple rewrites at the last minute. From Shotzi’s fight being canceled to Finn Balor‘s surprise entry to Rollins’ open challenge, this week of SmackDown certainly delivered.

After the announcement for Bayley vs. Shotzi was out, fans couldn’t wait to see the match. But the match was put off, to many’s disappointment. However, McMahon seems to have had different plans. He took to Twitter to announce the change in the card.

Bayley takes to social media to apologize to the fans

Bayley known for her bubbly nature and energetic persona, took to social media to express her regret and apologized to her fans. She wrote, “Card subject to change.. Sorry. Sorry you couldn’t watch me beat dat ass”

A change in the lineup resulted in the cancellation of the scheduled bout between Bayley and Shotzi, which was set to determine Bayley’s spot in the upcoming Money In The Bank Ladder match.

Initially, Iyo Sky accepted the match on Bayley’s behalf, putting her coveted spot on the line. However, the anticipated match did not take place as a match between Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans was added as a replacement. After Vince McMahon’s retirement, most of WWE fans and enthusiasts thought they would never see him. As many of the fans predicted, McMahon certainly couldn’t resist staying away from the ring, as he made his return at the beginning of the year.

SmackDown gets a Vince McMahon touch

For a while now, Triple H is heading the creative team of WWE. McMahon has been meddling in the WWE business again. His presence is strongly felt in the decisions made backstage.

This week’s SmackDown was a good example of that. The changes made by McMahon were very drastic and left everyone in shock. Several matches that were advertised prior to Friday night’s episode underwent alterations.

Notably, a highly anticipated triple-threat match between LA Knight, Santos Escobar, and Butch had to be replaced. Instead, Knight vs. Rey Mysterio kicked off the in-ring action in a singles match, with Knight securing a clean victory over the WWE Hall of Famer.
