Cody Rhodes finished his story with Roman Reigns on WrestleMania 40 and took the world by storm. That said, his salty exchanges with The Rock didn’t find a definitive conclusion. In fact, it just embraced a change in shape. While The Rock being considerate and fair to The American Nightmare on Raw after Mania sent shockwaves to the WWE Universe, it made a WWE veteran laugh till his belly ached. But why so? Let’s check out the comedic factor concealed in the promo.

Jim Cornette explains the rib-tickling spirit of the intense The Rock-Cody Rhodes promo

Dwayne Johnson stormed to the WWE ring a few months back and didn’t wait long to show the world who he was. His anti-Cody Rhodes antics and promos over time had earned him a lot of rave reviews from all across the pro-wrestling community. Moreover, the Hollywood star’s heel turn proved to be a game changer for the company’s viewership graph and rating parameters. From Dwayne Johnson stretching beyond the PG rules to pull out a hilarious The Rock concert to dump on Rhodes to rip the 38-year-old apart backstage on a gory Raw segment, the TKO board member legit ran the division. But as the post-WrestleMania season kicks off, it’s time for the Great One to say a temporary goodbye to focus on his other endeavors for a while.

Reflecting on the least-realized element of the promo, Cornette noted on his podcast, ” Just that tickled me I don’t why that phrasing it was like they caught me, it was like little little billy I know that Daddy needs to go away for a little while now, but I will always love you. And as soon as he said that crowd jumps in singing Sha na na na hey hey, goodbye.”

However, despite his dramatic approach to announcing a time off, it seems the Brahma Bull has some solid plans in mind for his post-hiatus WWE motives.

Cody Rhodes is not the only target of The Rock’s post-WrestleMania game plan

Having headlined WrestleMania 40 alongside his Samoan cousin Roman Reigns, The Rock took the WWE’s ratings to an unparalleled height. And now it appears the Great One is not yet done. Despite shifting back his focus to the Holywood for the time being, he is up for a couple of high-flying matches at the last leg of his career. Besides his unfinished Cody Rhodes story, The Rock has another big wig in his book to tackle. The man in question is the legendary John Cena, who had to deal with the Rock Bottom in the final moments of the main event of WrestleMania 40. The top, ”The Rock can always see you boy” jibe on social media sets up a perfect plot for a third encounter between The Rock and John Cena.
