The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes was finally able to finish his story at WrestleMania XL against Roman Reigns. After years of perseverance, Rhodes finally won the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, on Raw after WrestleMania XL, while Rhodes was soaking in the cheers, The Final Boss Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his presence felt.

Although, while The Rock made sure to make Rhodes feel the heat of the moment, the Philly crowd had other plans in their mind. As soon as Johnson tried speaking, he received the ‘Dominik Mysterio’ treatment.

Why and what derogatory chants did Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson meet with?

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would come face to face with Cody Rhodes and give him his flowers for his WrestleMania XL victory. However, his arrival would not be taken lightly by the fans. The entire Philadelphia crowd would start booing The Rock heavily. The crowd would not only stop at boos but started pouring in derogatory chants targeted toward The Brahma Bull. As soon as The Rock tried opening his mouth, he encountered insults and chants from the audience. The crowd would chant, “Undertaker” “Rocky Sucks” “Shut the f**k up” and “A***ole”.

They would further continue with, “This is awkward” and “hey hey hey goodbye”. However, the chants would soon cease, and The Rock would drop one of the most hyped teases of the night. Johnson would look straight into Cody Rhodes’ eyes and tease a future feud between the two.

Johnson and Rhodes earmark a clash for the future

At Raw after ‘Mania, Johnson would tease a major future rivalry with Rhodes. The Rock would announce his departure from WWE, but before that, he would drop a warning to the former AEW star. Grabbing The American Nightmare’s title, he expressed his desire to hold it one day.

He would further explain that while Rhodes’ story with Reigns has come to an end, his story with The American Nightmare is just beginning. Before walking out, The Brahma Bull would hand a hidden item to Rhodes, and ask him to not break his heart again.

While this was a major tease of the upcoming rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, The American Nightmare’s next challenge is yet to be revealed. Roman Reigns is expected to be on a hiatus, and The Rock has his busy schedule to attend.
